Jane Garcia
Jane Garcia graduated from Humber College's Communication and Graphic Design Program in 1981. She enjoyed a successful career as a commercial designer, illustrator, creative consultant and creative director, working for national advertisers such as Ford Motor Company, H.J. Heinz Company, Hershey Canada, Melitta Canada and The Egg Marketing Board.
In recent years, Jane turned her illustrative talents to clay, translating her highly detailed and realistic drawing style into highly detailed and elegant sculpture. “sculpture allows me to take illustration to the next level, not only from two dimensions to three, but also to wonderful contrasting textures - a genuine experience of sight but also touch, one that I could only ever hint at on paper.”
Her current work, entitled Steampunk Sampler, explores the concept of Steampunk ideals in a delightful series of sculpted vessels that captivate the imagination and Inspire conversation.
From the Gallery
Jane has chosen a very Elegant representation of Steam Punk focusing on the Victorian era in the adornments of all her vessels. Each piece a ‘stand alone’ yet also linked to the next – great to collect or to gift to someone special as they are all originals and one of a kind
Bravo Jane!!
