Fortunee Shugar
Fortunée is a professional artist, living in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. She is primarily a painter, with a wide variety of styles, exemplified in a number of series of paintings as seen in the various links below. She has recently branched out into one-of-a-kind wearable art, fused glass jewelry.
The same approach to the creation of my paintings has transferred to my jewelry designs. Thick layers of paint on canvas, are now multiple layers of specialized glass, kiln fused together at very high temperatures. As in abstract art, the finished glass art contains the same unpredictability and fresh approach. No two are the same. The process starts in chaos, but always ends in beauty.
The pieces however, are more than just jewelry. They are wearable art, just as easily framed on a wall as worn around one’s neck.
