Blake Richardson
34 years ago, I graduated from Sheridan College. In my last year of the illustration program, I stumbled onto a unique technique. The seed of the idea started during a project illustrating songs that I had written. I used inks and paints to splash on to paper to the music and began to see images emerge from the ink splashes. Photography was part of the course and I began using my camera to seek out visions in other textures in the environment around me. That lead to discovering a depth of imagery in nature that continues to inspire my art today. Arts and Craft festivals are an ideal environment to share my visions with the public. I hope to use my work to encourage a way of seeing that we seem most open to as children and remind people of their own unique relationships with the natural world.
